Color Swatches for Watercolor

I don't know about the rest of you...but often I have trouble deciding what colors to use in my paintings...Sometimes I think, it is helpful to have painted samples of different colors in front of you-- therfore.... Here are some greens, browns, blues, and yellows :)

I am partial to lemon yellow, sepia, and paynes' gray myself :)

oooh thats a good idea... I wonder if I could do little paper samples for my journals that way I dont have to pull out a zillion pieces of paper to go through every single time I make one!

Ahhh, you've inspired me!!

I guess it depends what you're painting. I like contrasting colors like blues & yellows. I saw if you can't decide, use them all.

I don't seem to have a problem picking colors these days. I typically "see" the finished image in my head before I start anything on canvas. There have been times (in the past,) where I've painted myself into a corner, though. Typically by changing my plan halfway through something.

Namaste' I like to do the same thing, so your not too overly weird or anything hahahah ;0) but artists still are in a league of their own soooo. :0) We artists tend to have an eye for *detail* color, and can be picky about it. To some yellow is just yellow, to an artist there is a zillion different spectrums of it and it has to be right for that ONE picture being created. Metta
